Improvement of Renal Function after Pyeloplasty Determined by 99mTc DTPA Renogram

Objective: To evaluate the improvement of renal function after pyeloplasty measured by 99mTc-DTPA renography. Materials and Methods: This hospital based quasi experimental study was done in department urology, National Institute Kidney Diseases Urology (NIKDU) Bangladesh Research Rehabilitation for Diabetes, Endocrine Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM) from July 2014 to December 2020. Sixty patients were included this who underwent Anderson-Hynes (A-H) dismembered pelviureteric junction (PUJ) obstruction. All evaluated with diuretic 99mTc- DTPA renogoam before at 3 6 months operation. Improvement comparing preoperative postoperative differential (DRF) glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Results: unilateral hydronephrosis due PUJ obstruction study. Of these 34 male 26 female mean age 15.6 years (ranged – 38 years). Out 60 patients, 56.7% had left sided 43.3% right hydronephrosis. Diuretic renography using all preoperatively postoperatively. Preoperative DRF GFR compared post-operative findings. The 16.72 ± 8.35% baseline which increased 26.03 7.08% end 3rd month 28.15 5.84% 6th month. 14.29 6.73 ml/min/1.73 m2 24.13 5.31ml/min/ 1.73 27.38 4.78 Conclusion: result demonstrates that, improves.
